Our Mission.

The Iranian Scholarship Foundation (ISF)  provides scholarships to students of Iranian descent in the United States who demonstrate exceptional academic promise, significant financial need and a dedication to community service. We believe that the future of the global Iranian community rests in the hands of our younger generation and the Iranian Scholarship Foundation is committed to providing the financial means to turn educational dreams into reality while fostering a sense of responsible community stewardship.

The Foundation.

ISF is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are an all volunteer based organization and do not have any paid employees. The Foundation is in the process of creating an endowment to pay all of its expenses from the interest it earns so 100% of all donations can be used for providing scholarships. Currently the founder pays for all ISF expenses.

A Message from our Board.

We are very pleased to welcome you to the Iranian Scholarship Foundation (ISF), a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that provides academic scholarships to students of Iranian descent who wish to attend college or university in the United States.

ISF is an all-volunteer organization and we are proud to have inspired Iranian-Americans all over the country through our grassroots efforts to make a college education a reality for aspiring Iranian students. In a show of their trust, the Iranian American community has donated nearly $2 million to ISF over the past several years with the organization enjoying significant growth in annual contributions. This has all been accomplished largely through the hard work of a handful of Iranian American women in Northern California, dedicated to the future of the next generation. ISF thrives from the direct support of the Iranian-American community and has not received any grants or support of any kind from any governmental organizations.

In terms of selection criteria, ISF grants scholarships to students of Iranian descent living in the US who demonstrate exceptional academic promise, significant financial need, and a dedication to community service. We believe that the future of the Iranian community worldwide is in the hands of our younger generation and we are united to support our community’s budding young minds and to encourage their participation in their local communities. ISF accepts students of all backgrounds and religions, having provided scholarships to young Iranians from a diverse segment of the Iranian community, including members of the Baha’i, Jewish, Christian, Zoroastrian, Azari and Kurdish minorities. The only individuals who are not allowed to apply for ISF scholarships are the relatives of ISF committee members.

ISF is passionate about connecting young Iranian-Americans with an opportunity to build a better future through their education. We have supported students in their studies at America’s most prestigious universities— including Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Princeton and Columbia—and we are eager to watch these talented and dedicated students grow.

It is that deeply shared devotion to the future of the Iranian-American community that drives ISF’s volunteer committee members. These well-respected community leaders have an intimate understanding of the Iranian population nationally and internationally due to their longstanding personal involvement in our community. Their leadership and passion drive ISF’s operations, in addition to the Iranian community at-large. We are confident their deep roots in the community will provide a groundswell of support around a high-profile opportunity to highlight ISF and its efforts.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us and we hope you will make the decision to join us in helping make educational dreams a reality for our community’s children.
