The deadline for this round of applications is December 15, 2018: Please submit all your documents in one package either via email to info@theisf.org or via mail to PO BOX 7531, Menlo Park, CA 94026. If submitting application by email, it must be received by 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time on December 15, 2018; if submitting by mail, application must be postmarked by December 15, 2018.  Academic transcripts must be official from the university and sent directly or in an officially sealed envelope.

 

Scholarship Details

The ISF graduate scholarship is meant to support exceptional graduate students of Iranian descent who are enrolled in a (terminal) master’s programs, demonstrate financial need, and show exceptional academic and research aptitude. The scholarship duration can be up to two years (subject to duration of program, current progression, and continued academic excellence) and the scholarship amount will depend on financial need.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be of Iranian descent (One Iranian parent);
  • Be enrolled in a terminal master’s degree at at a U.S. accredited university;
  • Demonstrate financial need;
  • Possess and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher;
  • Exhibit excellent research aptitude.
  • Currently our focus is helping international students who are in the US under student visa (F or J).

 

How to Apply

Submit a completed application by the deadline, including:

  • Completed application form [download from top of this page];
  • University letter of acceptance;
  • Proof of full-time enrollment provided by your university’s registrar office;
  • Most recent transcript from your university’s registrar office;
    • If it is your first academic term (quarter or semester) in the US, and have not received your transcript yet, please submit your application before the deadline (12/15) and send us your official transcript no later than 12/31. While we are waiting to receive your transcript for Fall, please provide a letter from your academic advisor stating that you are a committed, dedicated student and demonstrating a good performance. This letter must be submitted with your application.
  • University/departmental offer letter for any funds (assistantship, research or teaching fellowship, scholarship, etc.);
  • A copy of your valid immigration document: I-20 or DS-2019;
  • Immigration status verification letter: this letter can be obtained from the university international office and must be signed by a Designated School Official (DSO) or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO);
  • A copy of the ID page in your passport;
  • A copy of student visa stamp;
  • A personal essay about yourself (see application: essays should be between 500-750 words);
  • One letter of recommendation (from an academic advisor who is familiar with your academic work and can attest that you are making good progress towards your degree).
